Meet Laurie Omuro-Yamamoto
Dr. Laurie Omuro-Yamamoto is a licensed psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults. She frequently works with individuals with stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, anger, relationship, parenting, and life transition issues. Dr. Laurie carries a biopsychosocial spiritual view that considers individuals' biological, psychological, social, and spiritual backgrounds. She is able to integrate clients spiritual/religious and cultural beliefs into the treatment process. Dr. Laurie uses various therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, Hooponopono (A Native Hawaiian harmony restoration process), Thought Field Therapy, Soul Mind Body Medicine and Tao Science. Dr. Laurie was born and raised on Maui. She received a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in counseling psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master degree (M.Ed.) in School Counseling and Guidance, and a Bachelor’s degree (B.Ed.) in Elementary Education.
Meet Katharine Chan, MS
Katharine Chan has a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults to encourage mental health support and reduce mental health stigma. She has experience working in a variety of settings including individual, groups, crisis unit, residential facilities and treatment centers. She is currently on an LMHC licensure track and is passionate about working with those dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, relationship concerns, infertility, and postpartum depression to improve and transform their lives. Katharine strives to provide a safe, welcoming environment and a positive, compassionate, trusting therapeutic alliance with her clients and offers treatments that are sensitive to cultural and spiritual diversity. She is bilingual and can conduct therapy in Chinese. Katharine views therapy as a collaborative effort to learn, grow, and achieve goals by emphasizing strengths-based interaction and unconditional positive regard and through the use of an eclectic mix of modalities including person-centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, play therapy, sand tray and mindfulness-based interventions.
Meet Rya Baligad, BSPT
Rya is a practicing licensed physical therapist (BSPT), who has been serving the adult and geriatric population for 12 years. She is inspired by the work of her teacher, Dr. Zhi Gang Sha, a well-known teacher, speaker, and renowned healer whose life mission is to serve everyone and everything. Rya’s heart of service through physical therapy has helped clients get back on their feet, enhanced their mobility, and improved their quality of life after hospitalization from trauma and illness. In the beginning of every physical therapy session, there will be a meditation followed by therapeutic exercises and/or walking or manual therapy as needed in order to optimize your treatment or physical exercises.
Meet Chiemi Ban, OT
Chiemi Ban is a registered and licensed occupational therapist for over 20 years with experience working in various clinical settings. She currently works at the community hospital assisting clients of all ages to become more independent and functional in their daily lives. Throughout her life and OT career, Chiemi’s greatest wish is to help others become healthy and happy.
Meet Jamie Natividad, MT
Jamie has been a licensed massage therapist and esthetician for 20 years. She is a Tao hands practitioner at the Zhi (purple) dan level. She has also studied various alternative healing therapies for 33 years. Jamie’s unique life experiences bring multidimensional healing aspects to her body treatments. She uses her intuition and divine communication to connect with your body and soul to create harmony and alignment through Lomilomi. She also integrates a personal customized combination of aromatherapy, crystals, color, sound therapies and Ho’oponopono (forgiveness practice) to enhance the session.
